Project Description
This video uses a “drift” format and overviews the long-standing contrasting production of Brazilian public space. On the one hand, there are the empty public areas produced by top-down policies and real estate. On the other hand, there are the cultural assets and the easy unpretentious public space production in the favelas. Three participative projects are displayed to explain favela space: a slide, a pool and a library. These are interventions from the School of Architecture of the Favela, a subproject from ARCC +Ladolab in the Favela Grotto of Santo Antonio (Maceio, Brazil).
